Week 10: Programming Part 1
PROGRAMMING PART 1! FilmSoc needs you!
Do you want to be part of deciding what goes on next semester’s programme? Then come vote! Membership is required.
Part 1 of programming involves you pitching the movies you've been suggesting throughout the semester. We work through the list and you can speak for the movies you suggested or the ones you would be happy to speak for. You get 30 seconds to convince the room of the choice. If a film is not pitched, it’s out of the running!
Then we vote. Each member gets a slip of paper for each of the 3 categories (classic, new, foreign). On the paper, you rank 5 films, which receive a certain number of points based on your ranking:
Your #1 choice gets 5 points
Your #2 choice gets 4 points
Your #3 choice gets 3 points
Your #4 choice gets 2 points
Your #5 choice gets 1 point
If a film gets no points, it’s out! Points are added up and the surviving films are ranked in their categories.
We have also booked out a space in 32 Below to have some well deserved drinks after we’re done!
Week 8: The Big Lebowski (Cult Screening)

Week 3: Twilight (Cult Screening)
“I’ve never given much thought to how I would die.”
Iconic in so many ways. The religion of many tween and teenage girls in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Were you Team Edward or Team Jacob? We don’t care. But Catherine Hardwicke’s superb adaptation makes Twilight (and only the first one) one for the autumn sad girlies. It’s so stylized and angsty you practically get choked (bitten?) with it.
This screening is FREE TO ALL and unticketed, so bring your friends along!

Week 10: Bend It Like Beckham (Cult Screening)
In Week 8, we showed you one of the gayest films ever made (Top Gun) - and now in Week 10, we’re showing you another one!
