English writer Brian arrives in Berlin in 1931, only to get caught up in the seedy decadence of its cabaret scene when he meets Sally Bowles - she’s enigmatic and starry-eyed, sweeping Brian off his feet. Set against the backdrop of the Nazi Party’s rise to power, this musical paints a nightmarish and surreal picture of a city in turmoil and a country on the brink of an agonising transformation.
